Patient Requested Testing

Whether for fitness or health reasons, Pathlab can assist with wellness and offer a wide range of tests that don't require the approval of a registered medical practitioner.

Simply visit any Pathlab collection room to have a blood sample taken for testing.

  • We'll ask for proof of your identity and your address and contact phone number.
  • We'll post results to your address, or you can collect them from our centrally located laboratory sites.
  • Payment is required for all self-requested tests.

Our laboratory testing uses validated methods and accredited processing systems but we do not provide clinical advice on self-requested test selection or interpretation.

For any interpretation of abnormal results, we advise that you seek the advice of a doctor.

Immigration and visa medical testing

We can facilitate all immigration testing (and we certify immigration documentation) as required by the Department of Internal Affairs.

Insurance tests

We liaise with insurance companies in assessing the health of people applying for insurance. Some usual tests include:

  • Hepatitis A, B, and C
  • HIV
  • Liver, Renal function and Glucose
  • Lipids - Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, LDL
  • Urine microscopy, culture, and sensitivity

Other tests are available on request. All tests are treated in the strictest confidence.

Travel medicine checks

Pathlab can provide any laboratory testing recommended before travelling overseas. Your GP will be able tell you what testing you need and what laboratory test charges are included in the doctor's consultation or need to be paid separately.
